La cadena de televisión VH1 ha realizado una clasificación de las 100 mejores canciones de los 80’s, publicada en la madrugada del 11 de febrero de 2007. Sin duda tiene un alto grado de acierto, sin embargo ha tenido en cuenta el mercado americano que lleva alguna diferencia con el mercado latino, es por eso que faltan algunas canciones que conocemos nosotros o pueden presentar una posición con la que podemos no estar de acuerdo. En este artículo publico el listado para que todos lo conozcan e iniciemos una discusión al respecto.
Para información de todos VH1 (siglas de Video Hits One), es un canal de origen estadounidense, fue creado en Enero de 1985 por Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment. En sus inicios, a diferencia de su canal hermano, MTV, que apuntaba a los adolescentes, VH1 esperaba llegar a un público más grande entre 18 y 45 años, presentando vídeo clips referentes a los más destacados de la música popular de esa época, muy focalizado en la década de los 80.
